Nick is a firm believer in giving back. He believes in the power of teamwork. His law firm is based on the principle of accomplishing more by working together. Nick’s philosophy extends to philanthropic efforts. Two charities that are close to his heart are Esperanza and The Wounded Warrior Project.
When Seattle Mariners catcher, Dave Valle, came to the Dominican Republic to play winter ball in 1995, he was only expecting to improve his baseball.
Motivated by the poverty he and wife witnessed during his visits to the region, Dave and his wife founded an organization dedicated to serving those who need “a hand up, not a hand out”.
The mission of Esperanza International is to free children and their families from poverty through initiatives that generate income, education, health, restoring self-worth, and restoring dignity to those who have lost hope.
What is an Esperanza Associate?
An Esperanza Associate is a woman or man who borrows money from Esperanza to start or improve a small business. These women or men participate in Esperanza’s loan program either through a group lending program, or through individual loans. The average loan size of the majority of our borrowers is just US $223! The borrower uses the loan to start and build a small business. Many are able to support their families for the first time.

Nick has always has a great respect for men and women who serve. He has admired the U.S. military from a young age. He decided after September 11, 2001 that he would find a way to give back.
