Nick Nemeth, an experienced tax attorney who began a very successful Dallas based law firm, has some practical tips which can help readers avoid tax disputes with the IRS.

Dallas, TX – Feb. 4, 2014– Nick Nemeth, a top tax lawyer and reputable author, has published another article which can be found on his website that provides insight for taxpayers about the process used for an IRS audit.

“Avoid an IRS Dispute Before it Begins: Seven Tips to Avoid IRS Trouble” is the title of the latest article by experienced tax lawyer Nick Nemeth, and he gives taxpayers key facts and information which can help them avoid IRS woes and tax audits.

According to the author “No one wants to become part of an IRS audit, and a notification of this issue is something that no one wants to find in their mailbox. We are tax specialists, and we represent a wide variety of taxpayers in the local community in their battle with the IRS. We strive to make tax disputes as painless and stress free as possible for our clients.”

While successfully resolving an IRS controversy is great it is even better if you can avoid any tax dispute completely. Tax filing season is almost here again, and the new article shares a number of tips which are practical and useful for taxpayers. These tips can help a taxpayer avoid any problems with the IRS before any issues can start. The tips offered include:

1. Always double check your tax return to avoid simple mistakes and common errors which would cause the IRS to take a second look at your account. The number of taxpayers who make simple mistakes in math, who forget to actually sign the return, or who place data on the wrong line are just inviting the IRS to start the audit process. These common mistakes will cause the IRS computer system to red flag the return, and it will be examined further by a live person.

2. Any business deductions that are claimed for business losses need to be legitimate and well documented. If you own a business that has been operating for more than 1 year and you claim a business loss the IRS will usually become suspicious. It is important to claim any actual deduction that you are eligible for so you do not give the IRS more than you truly owe, but make sure that you retain documentation and supporting records for these deductions.

3. Make sure that you have the right to claim any dependents that you list on the tax return, and verify that these dependents will not be claimed by anyone else for tax purposes. One of the biggest red flags for the IRS is a dependent being claimed by more than one tax payer. The IRS computer system will catch this duplication and will flag all of the returns which list the same dependent for further review.

Nick Nemeth and the attorneys at his law practice specialize in dealing with the IRS and tax law, operating in several areas of Texas. The attorneys at the firm focus only on assisting people and businesses who have IRS issues, and the associated problems and stress that comes from dealing with the IRS.

I would like to thank Mr. Nick and his staff for the superb help that I received from them. My IRS problem was resolved quickly and efficiently. It took 2 visits to convince me that I was over my head. I thought that I could call the IRS, appeal my tax notices and settle on a payment plan on my own. After many phone calls to the IRS, waiting sometimes more than 4 hours with no resolution to speak of, it proved to be extremely difficult and stressful. Revisiting Mr. Nick was a huge wake up call. My account was reviewed, and a payment plan was established with the IRS within a week. I will be forever grateful to the staff who worked on my case and especially to Lorna who listened to me vent while going through this painful process.

I cannot say enough good things about Nick and his team. When I first met with Nick he was up front, honest, friendly and efficient. When I worked with one of his attorneys, Eric B, I was just as pleased. All of the staff there are nice and very helpful. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get help with my issue. Over 6yrs I tried getting through and getting anywhere with the IRS and hardly made any progress. I know this may not be the case for all, and even I thought it would take longer than it did, but 3mos and they had my situation straightened out. I still can't believe it. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for all that you did for me. This is a huge burden gone out of my life now thanks to you. If anyone needs help out there, I know you may not want to shell out more money to get their help but it may just save you in the long run.

During a time in which competent, professional service at a fair price seems to have disappeared, Mr. Nemeth and his team are a refreshing breath of fresh air. From my first phone call to the final settlement of our case with a non-responsive IRS, they under-promised, over-delivered and were in constant courteous contact to make sure we knew exactly what was happening and where we stood.I hope to never need their services again, but, should I receive another friendly letter from the IRS...I know who to call!
